Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Shellie Barnes (f)

Shellie is on an Advanced Care Practitioner course which will see her enhancing the team where she will be able to triage, see patients, diagnose and prescribe. This will be in addition to her Womens Health Clinics and contraception advice already in place.


Sister Emma Paton (f)

Interest in Cardiovascular disease, diabetes and all long term conditions.

Sister Hannah Curtain (f)

Treatment room nurse currently training to enhance primary care skills.

Mr Steve Adams (m)

Steve Adams is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner - He has undertaken advanced training and education to be able to assess, diagnose and prescribe independently and will be a great asset to the surgery dealing with the more urgent calls on a Monday and both seeing and telephoning patients on other weekdays.

Mrs Paula Duffell (f)

Paula Duffell is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner - She has undertaken advanced training and education to be able to assess, diagnose and prescribe independently and will be working with the team on home visits including care/residential homes and palliative home care as well as offering surgery based clinics for our patients.

Healthcare Assistants

Nurse Associate Corrine (f)

Nurse Associates support practice nurses with their daily work and this is a professionally recognised qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and enables them to take enhanced training and supervisory roles.

HCA Susan Spinks (f)

HCAs do a lot of initial investigation work - bloods, ECGs, BPs, Diabetes and Heart disease measurements for annual reviews.  Monitoring long term needs for those on drugs that can affect the body to ensure correct dosing maintained.
