We are
extremely lucky to be part of a team working with excellent Practice and
Community Nurses, who are highly-trained Professionals with a range of skills
way beyond those offered by the Doctors alone.
Our Practice Nurses
Sister
Sue Dewar is the Practice Nurse team
leader. She has special interests in Family Planning and Gynaecology (including
Continence problems) as well as performing a wide range of General Nursing
tasks. She also performs the check-ups and immunisations we offer to 15 year
olds. She has now been with us for more than 25 years!
Sister Chris
Hale is the Lead Nurse for Diabetes and for Respiratory problems such as
Asthma and Chronic Lung Disease. She also performs the "over 75" medicals at patients'
request as well as some of the "New Patient Health Checks".
Sister Mandy
Donald is our Lead Nurse for Heart Disease. She has special training in Smoking Cessation
and Diabetes, and generally
speaking, the GPs will not prescribe medications to help people quit smoking
unless the patient is also coming to see Mandy or another Practice Nurse.
Sister Dawn
Young is the Team Lead for Travel Services and provides a variety of
nursing care, including Spirometry and COPD reviews
Other Health Care
