Dr John Mogan

  • Dr John Mogan will be retiring from the surgery on the 31st March 2012.

  • Dr Mogan will also be away from January 9th for at least 6 weeks for a routine operation and he hopes to be back with us sometime in March – dates yet to be announced.

  • We have appointed a new part-time partner,   Dr Claire Francis, to take over a portion of Dr Mogan’s list and we will transfer the remainder of his patient list amongst the other partners for the time being.  You may express a wish to be on a particular GP’s list but please note we have to ensure a “fair share” across the partnership

When we speak to you  about flu - we will ask you if you have had a temperature  above 38 degrees. Do you have a Thermometer and some Paracetamol at home?  If not - please consider buying them.

Practice News

  • Coming Soon:

Book your appointments online - we hope this service will become available in 2012. This will happen when we change over to a more modern computer system. We will also modernise this website in the meantime.

  • Recently turned 65?

If you are 65 or over, you are invited to have a pneumococccal jab.  This is a one-off (for most people) vaccination directed against the most common form of pneumonia and also a strain of meningitis/septicaemia.  If you would like to have this, please ring and make an appointment with the Practice Nurse.  There are a few people for whom this vaccine would not be suitable (such as patients receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy) - please ask if you have any concerns.

  • Quality Results

Martins Oak achieved 995 out of 1000 points in the 2009-10 Quality and Outcomes Framework due to the efforts of the Doctors, Practice Nursing Staff and Administrative Staff. The QOF is a measure of the achievement of quality care of Patients. We were also on of only 7 out of 34 Surgeries in Hastings & Rother to get maximum points for our appointments system after an anonymised patient survey. Thank you to all those who filled in a questionnaire.
